Negative Calorie diet

Negative calorie diets are really healthy. What does it mean? It means that you eat foods that take a a lot of calories to digest and you will burn more calories than you actually eat.

For exampls lets just say a carrot has 50 calories in it. After you swallow it, your body uses upto 70 calories to digest the carrot then you have just lost 20 calories by simply eating!

Do these diets work? I would say 80% of the times negative calorie diets work because negative calorie foods are generally healthy to eat and even if your body doesn't burn more calories you still are getting healthy foods.

Here is a small list of foods that burn more calories than they contain.

1. Carrots
2. Cucumbers
3. Brocolli
4. Egg plant
5. Baby carrots
6. Apple

Causes of overweight

1. Weight problems in your family(Father, mother, grandparents being overweight)
2. Eating to comfort yourself(Under stress, depression or anxiety)
3. Eating too much and not knowing when to stop(Over full stomach)
4. On medication that has side effects of gaining weight or weight pills that make you gain twice the weight after losing several pounds.

Using online calculators

Well here are some height and weight stats for an average 150 pound person. Yours will be more or less depending on your weight. If you are muscular you will weigh more but not be considered fat!

and onwards. You can use Body Mass Index calculator to accurately measure if you are above average weight, standard or below average for your height vs weight ratio.

Calorie calculator: 25xyour weight in kilograms
Example: 100x25= 2500 calories a day for 100kg person to maintain at 100 kg.

Losing weight

Well first you should increase your metabolism rate. Healthy ways to lose weight and keeping it off forever are:

1. Regular excercise (3-4 days a week for 30 minutes)
2. Doing weight training( check my blog www.weightliftingexcercises.blogspot.com)
3. Eating healthy food with high fiber. (All Bran, whole wheat bread, etc)
4. Spot reducing fat is incredibally hard and can only be lost by liposuction or operation or losing fat overall.
5. Controlling on calories( Eat 200 less calories each day than you are supposed to).

Example: 100kg person needs 2500 calories a day. Instead eat 2300 calories and also exercise which will burn some more calories because the calorie labels on food items are never perfect and exercise helps maintain a healthy heart.

There is much more to metabolism than an average person like you or even me before I read books on it. Metabolism is something that is only natural. Many people think that everyone is born with a metabolism rate and that rate is natural and cannot be changed.

Well it is true that you are born with a metabolism rate and that is why some of your friends maybe eating more than you but still staying in shape without exercising. But you can definitely change your metabolism rate if you follow few simple guidelines and you will not only lose weight but you will have the ability to keep the weight steady even after the Christmas time.

So what are the guidelines?
Water> Drink plenty of water everyday. 1.5-2.5 liters of water a day! Water is good for everything (eyesight, teeth, body, health and of course weight loss). There are some rumors around that water makes a person grow fatter stomach. I have researched a lot about metabolism and I am talking from experience that water does not make you fat in any shape or form at all!

Exercising is an obvious one. It is so obvious that people don't do it. Exercising doesn't mean going to the gym for three hours one day and then taking off for the whole week eating burgers and cakes. Exercise regularly and at a constant level (same speed, time and types of exercises).Exercises gets your heartbeat up which in turns supplies more blood to the brain and increases metabolism which causes you to lose weight as well.

Right meals: Some foods that have helped increase the metabolic rate are garlic, tomatoes, onions, carrots, broccoli and other green vegetables. Also it is important to eat all three meals with breakfast being the superior meal because it is the first meal of the day and keeps you fueled for the whole day. All three meals must be eaten in right amounts.

If you are really trying hard to increase metabolism and lose weight then DO NOT GO TO BUFFETS! Buffets are places where people usually over eat to get their money worth and this in turn tells their brain that they will eat this much everyday, but instead you eat nothing the next day at the same time which causes your metabolism rate to fall down.
So here you have it drink water, exercise, watch what you eat and eat in the right portions. Have a healthy routine and good luck on losing weight and increasing metabolism forever
